TOWN OF FREMONT (WLUK) — One person was killed and another injured after a two-vehicle crash Wednesday in Waupaca County.
It happened at approximately 10:30 a.m. on U.S. Highway 10, at Old Highway 49, in the town of Fremont.
Initial investigation determined a truck and trailer traveling eastbound on US10 struck a car driving northbound on Old Highway 49. The driver of the car was trapped inside their vehicle and had to be extricated by emergency personnel.
Lifesaving measures were administered, but the car's driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The person driving the truck suffered suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to an area hospital.
An investigation into the crash is ongoing. Names have not yet been released, pending family notification.
