HUNTS POINT, Bronx (WABC) — A 29-year-old woman was killed and four others injured when their car collided with two trucks in the Bronx early Friday.
A white Acura sedan was eastbound on Bruckner Boulevard, the service road, near the Hunts Point Market, just before 4:40 a.m.
The sedan struck both a tractor-trailer and a truck before spinning out-of-control and crashing.
Three people were extricated from the crushed car. The female driver was rushed to the hospital where she died from her injuries.
A 26-year-old rear female passenger was taken to Lincoln Hospital in critical condition. A 29-year-old man in the front passenger seat is in stable condition.
The 29-year-old tractor-trailer driver and 26-year-old box truck driver were also taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition.
Eastbound Bruckner Boulevard was closed for the investigation. The 13-wheel tractor-trailer was now leaking fuel, requiring cleanup.
A police investigation is underway into the cause of the crash.
