MARLBORO COUNTY, SC (WPDE) — One person is dead after a collision this afternoon involving a train and a vehicle on Briar Patch Road in the McColl area of Marlboro County.
According to the South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP), a 2001 Chevrolet S-10 was traveling west on Briar Patch Road, approaching the railroad.
A train traveling north on the tracks struck the car around 3 p.m.

The driver of the car was the only passenger and died on site.
Smith said at this time he's not able to release any more information.
