BETWEEN GREEN CASTLE AND GREEN CITY, Mo. — UPDATE: On Monday afternoon, the Missouri State Highway Patrol posted the crash report for Monday morning's wreck on Highway 6, one-and-a-half miles east of Green City.
The report says a pickup truck driven by a 25-year-old man from Milan, Missouri, crossed the center of the roadway and crashed head-on into a Missouri state trooper's car.
The pickup, which had six Milan, Missouri, residents inside, overturned and came to rest on its side in the roadway. The patrol car came to rest off the side of the highway.
A passenger in the pickup, a 62-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The 28-year-old state trooper and the other five people in the truck all suffered serious injuries. They were all taken by ambulance to Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The other passengers in the pickup were a 17-year-old boy, a 21-year-old man, a 43-year-old woman and a 46-year-old man.
Four of the six people in the truck were not buckled up, including the woman who died in the crash.

ORIGINAL STORY:
A violent crash involving a Missouri state trooper's car and a pickup truck left one person dead and six others badly hurt.
The wreck happened at 7:20 a.m. Monday on Highway 6 between Green City and Green Castle.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says one person in the pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's family has been notified.
Five other people in the truck and the state trooper all suffered serious injuries and were taken to the hospital for treatment.
Sgt. Justin Dunn said the trooper involved is based out of Adair County, but he was helping to cover Sullivan County on Monday.
Dunn said there was no pursuit involved. The state trooper's car just happened to be one of the vehicles in the collision.
The patrol's Major Crash Investigative Unit was called to the scene to look into how the crash happened.
Highway 6 was closed for approximately five hours while the wreckage was cleared and the crash investigated.
The highway patrol's online crash report is expected to be published sometime Monday afternoon.
