FLETCHER, N.C. (WLOS) — One person is dead after a wreck on Mills Gap Road in Fletcher, authorities said.
The Fletcher Police Department is investigating a fatal vehicle collision that occurred at 126 Mills Gap Road, the department confirmed via Facebook.
According to Fletcher Police Chief Dan Terry, the crash happened around 10:30 a.m. Terry confirmed that the two vehicles involved were a dump truck and a passenger vehicle. The person killed in the crash was the driver of the passenger vehicle, Terry said. The make and model of the impacted vehicles are unknown at this time.

Shortly after the crash occurred, authorities said the road would remain closed for several hours and drivers should expect delays. As of 1:15 p.m., Mills Gap Road has reopened, the Fletcher Police Department confirmed.
The names of those involved in the crash are being withheld until family members are notified.
