Authorities said the 73-year-old driver of a Toyota Corolla was turning left onto Royal Street off of Oak Street at the time of the deadly crash. The driver’s name has not been released at this time, and officials didn’t immediately say whether any charges would be filed in this case.
People who live in the area where the crash occurred told NBC10 Boston on Friday that they were devastated by what happened.
“That was devastating for everybody,” said Vasily Gatov, who lives directly in front of the crash site. “I mean I understand the family is completely, the family of the kid is completely devastated, but I mean everybody else, the whole street was here out and everybody was shaking…”
According to Gatov, the Toyota Corolla driver was also in complete shock.
