INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Two people were in critical condition and another was stable after a car crash and shooting at an adult entertainment club on Lafayette Road early Sunday morning.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called just after 3:05 a.m. Sunday to The Pony, 3551 Lafayette Road, when a car crashed into barriers outside the club and struck a man and a woman.
IMPD said the woman who was hit by the car was taken to a hospital with critical injuries. A man hit by the car was stable.
The man who was driving the car was found with gunshot wounds. He was in critical condition.
An off-duty officer, not affiliated with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department, shot the driver of the car, IMPD said. The off-duty officer remained at the scene following the shooting. It was not immediately shared publicly whether the off-duty officer was working as security or was a patron. IMPD did not share publicly at which department the off-duty officer is employed.
The driver, who was also critically injured, was taken to a hospital, IMPD said.
Investigators at 6:30 a.m. Sunday were continuing to determine the circumstances surrounding the crash and the shooting.
