Two people were injured in a collision involving a tractor trailer and pickup truck on Route 9, which has closed a portion of the southbound part of the highway in Saratoga Springs until further notice, city police said.
The crash occurred in the area of East West Road, located near the Saratoga Spa State Park, around 6:35 a.m. Tuesday when the southbound trailer struck a parked pickup truck that had stopped on the shoulder of the road due to mechanical issues, Saratoga Springs police said in a statement. 
The driver of the truck sustained serious injuries and was taken to Albany Medical Center; the driver of the tractor trailer was taken to Saratoga Hospital for evaluation, police said.
Route 9 south at East West Road and Crescent Avenue has been closed until further notice, police said at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday. 
Members of the Saratoga Springs Police Department Traffic Safety Unit and Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating the cause of the crash.
