NEW BEDFORD, Mass. (WJAR) — Massachusetts State Police said two people were killed and two people were hurt in a crash early Saturday morning in New Bedford.
The crash on Route 140 south was reported at about 2 a.m.
"Troopers discovered a 2019 Honda Civic with significant damage off of the road and one of the occupants deceased on scene," state police said in a release.
Three other people in the car were taken to the hospital, where state police said one of them died.
Traffic was restricted to the breakdown lane for about three hours. The road reopened to normal traffic at about 5 a.m.
State police did not immediately release the names of anyone in the car.
