The National Corvette Museum just hosted its 20,000th new Corvette delivery.
The program began in 1995 and offers a VIP experience for a pretty reasonable cost.
The program is available on any new Corvette ordered from dealers in the United States.
The National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green, Kentucky, is a must-see spot for any Vette fan—or really any car enthusiast in general. Established in 1994, it rather famously survived a sinkhole in 2014 and contains more than a hundred significant Corvettes, along with a hall of fame and all manner of artifacts. Basic admission will set you back $25, and it's well worth it. However, there's a much more expensive and more exciting way to visit.
As of this week, some 20,000 people have checked the R8C order box on their brand-new Corvette, an option that lets you take delivery at the famous museum. The program, which is celebrating its 30th birthday, is scarcely younger than the museum itself and is clearly very popular.
Museum delivery costs $1495, and yes, that's quite a bit more than just getting a ticket at the window. However, it comes with membership to the museum, a VIP guided tour, a decal and interior dash plaque, a picture in front of the museum, and you get to pick your new car up from inside the museum itself. I mean, how many times are you going to buy a new Corvette? You might as well make the experience memorable.
Museum delivery is open to any new Corvette model from the lineup, if ordered from a Chevrolet dealership in the United States. The Vette that passed the 20,000 mark was a 2025 Stingray in Sebring Orange. Sure, it's not a Z06 or ZR1, but it's special nonetheless.
After having the top of your head cracked open and 72 years of Corvette heritage poured into your brain, you then get to experience the joy of firing up a factory-fresh V-8 and hitting the road. You'll be at the wheel of your own personal part of the Corvette story, loping along the roads of Kentucky, headed back home with your mint machine.
It's a little bit like taking factory delivery of a Porsche or BMW, but with far more reasonable travel costs and the added bonus of getting to experience a world-class museum. If you're thinking of finally calling up your local Chevrolet dealer and buying the Corvette you've long dreamed of, there's one more step to the process you won't want to miss out on.
