The Jeep Grand Cherokee has been mildly restyled for 2026, but the biggest changes are under the skin.
Jeep is adding an all-new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine option to the SUV’s option list along with the familiar 3.6-liter V6.
The four-cylinder is rated 324 hp and 332 lb-ft, while the V6 is still 293 hp and 260 lb-ft. Jeep said the turbo is 10% more efficient and 20% more powerful than the ones currently offered in its other vehicles.
It gets there with the help of a twin-spark design that ignites a little bit of fuel in a pre-chamber, which jets into the main combustion chamber to promote a more complete burn. Both engines are matched to eight-speed automatic transmissions. Fuel economy hasn’t been finalized, but the four-cylinder is good for a 6,200-pound towing capacity.

The exterior styling has been updated with new grilles, lights and lower fascias, while the interiors get major overhauls. The stretched three-row Grand Cherokee L shares the updates.
The dashboards have been fully redesigned more in the style of the Grand Wagoneer and Wagoneer S, with mostly touchpad controls and up to three digital displays, including an infotainment system screen for the front seat passenger.
The Grand Cherokee will be offered in Laredo, Limited and Summit trims with additional sub trims representing increasing levels of content. The base Laredo comes with the V6 while a Laredo Altitude gets the turbo. Available features across the lineup include a 360-degree camera and a night vision system along

Additional options further elevate the Limited trim with choices such as the Grand Cherokee’s Night
Vision system, a surround 360-degree camera and an integrated off-road camera. The Summit offers the Quadra-Trac II 4×4 system and an air suspension.
The Grand Cherokee 4xe carries over its existing plug-in hybrid powertrain, which combines a turbocharged four-cylinder with electric drive to produce a maximum of 375 hp and 470 lb-ft and is able to cover up to 25 miles in all-electric mode.

The Grand Cherokee’s most extreme off-road Trailhawk trim remains exclusive to the 4xe, which can also be ordered as a Limited or Summit. One notable change on the Trailhawk is a switch from the 4xe’s signature blue tow hooks to red like Jeep’s other Trailhawk models use.
Pricing for the 2026 Grand Cherokee lineup will be announced closer to when deliveries begin late this year.
