A 24-year-old Yarmouth Port man was killed in an early morning car crash on West Yarmouth Road on Thanksgiving, according to a Yarmouth Police Department press release.
Police were called to the crash around 1:13 a.m., north of Sheffield Road. Two vehicles received significant damage. One vehicle, occupied by the Yarmouth Port man, was off the road and against a tree, according to the release. First responders began providing aid to the man, and the fire department took over care once they arrived, but the man was pronounced dead at Cape Cod Hospital.
The person in the second vehicle was taken to Cape Cod Hospital for evaluation, according to the press release.
“Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, their loved ones, and all who are grieving during this very difficult time,” Yarmouth police wrote in their statement on Facebook.
There are no updates on the cause of the crash, as of Friday morning. The crash is under investigation by the Yarmouth Police Department Accident Reconstruction Team and the Barnstable County Sheriff’s Division of Criminal Investigation.
