According to West Valley City officials, around lunchtime on Friday, an employee of a service that provides transportation for disabled adults was driving three adult men from three different assisted living facilities when he stopped at his own home around lunchtime and went inside.
A police booking affidavit said the employee, 25-year-old Isaiah Pulu, told officers one of the three men “would not calm down and was being disruptive.”
Police said Pulu told officers he had asked the three men to stay in the vehicle while he went inside to eat and watch TV.
Pulu told police he left the vehicle on with the windows down and the garage door open at 10 a.m. When he returned, three and a half hours later at 1:30 p.m., Pulu told police that the garage door was closed.
“The vehicle was off and would not start, and all three were unresponsive,” the arrest report said. “All three were declared deceased on scene.”
The families of the deceased men were notified and police said an investigation was ongoing as of Friday.
The West Valley City Police Department identified the three men as Colton Moser, 25, Mosa’ati Moa, 22 and Tim Jones, 39.
Pulu was arrested on Friday for investigation of manslaughter and investigation of aggravated abuse of a vulnerable adult.
