Cadillac has been building and selling luxury vehicles for over 100 years.
Successive years have seen added comfort, technology, safety features and heftier prices. The flagship vehicle of Cadillac, the Escalade, now has a starting price north of $90,000. While that may be way out of reach for most buyers, there is still a relatively affordable car in the brand’s catalog. It’s a sedan with different powertrain options and many features to choose from starting below $40,000 for the 2026 model year.
The Cadillac CT4 starts at $35,600, making it not only the cheapest Cadillac, but one of the most affordable luxury vehicles on the market. The ‘Luxury’ trim is the cheapest available, but offers a lot of features to make it an intriguing option for potential buyers. Despits it’s “cheaper” price point, it’s still a Cadillac through and through.
This trim comes standard with a 2.0L twin-scroll turbocharged engine, 237 horsepower, an 8-speed automatic transmission and rear-wheel drive with an option for all-wheel drive. The safety features include a backup camera and more advanced tech such as dual-zone auto climate control and the Driver Awareness Plus Package. This package includes following sitance indicator, lane keep assists with lane departure warning, IntelliBeam headlights, rear cross traffic alert and side blind zone alert.
The most expensive standard CT4 trim available is the Sport, which begins at $43,800. The Sport and Premium luxury, which costs a little less at $39,900, use the same 2.7L twin-turbocharged engine that supplies 325 horsepower and 258 lb-ft of torque. They both come in all-wheel drive and use a 10-speed automatic transmission.
If you want even more performance, then there are the CT4-V and CT4-V Blackwing that start at $50,000 and $62,700, respectively.
Most of the competitors of the CT4 are foreign brands since there aren’t many American made sedans still in production. Vehicles such as the BMW 3-Series, Mercedes C-Class, Audi A4 and Lexus ES are comparable to the CT4 in cost, power, size and features. The Cadillac is still cheaper, with similar technology as the others, and it is an option to consider if you are in the market for a new sedan.
