BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Protests have been held in recent weeks against actions by Immigration and Customs Enforcement, such as mistakenly detaining U.S. citizens and arresting people at their immigration court hearings, in front of their children.
The Visibility Brigade Movement, a national activist group that holds rallies and posts signs on bridges to get their message out, plans to raise awareness about ICE with a peaceful protest this weekend. The caravan will pass through Bergen County.

The “Crush ICE Caravans: A Defibrillator for Democracy” will run from 2 to 4 p.m. this Saturday, with a rain date of Sunday, they say.
They expect 20–50 decorated cars to participate in the procession, displaying QR codes and slogans.
“The Visibility Brigade will launch its first Crush ICE Caravan in New Jersey, an upbeat, boisterous car parade designed to raise awareness of the growing threat of ICE and mobilize local communities,” said a release. “Roughly 20–50 decorated cars will display bold messaging and QR codes that link to actions individuals can take to protect themselves and their neighbors.”
The caravan will pass through Glen Rock in Bergen County between 2:30 and 3 p.m., particularly passing “The Rock” at 140 Rock Road.
“ICE has expanded into a powerful enforcement arm, operating with secrecy and fear,” the group said. “Congress recently allocated $170 billion to DHS, fueling detention camps and checkpoints nationwide, including in New Jersey. The Crush ICE Caravan aims to sound the alarm, build local infrastructure to resist ICE actions, and inspire communities across the country to replicate the model.”
The group now has 270 chapters across the country, they say.
