A young man has died in a single-vehicle collision in Co. Kerry today.
The crash occurred on the N69 at Ballingowan, near Tralee shortly after 10am – Gardaí and emergency services rushed to the scene.
A man, 20s, was the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The local Coroner has been notified and the deceased will be taken to the mortuary at University Hospital Kerry, where a post-mortem examination will be carried out..
The road has been closed as the scene is currently preserved for a technical examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators. Local traffic diversions remain in place.
Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to this collision. They are particularly appealing to those with camera footage, including dash-cam recordings, from the area at the time to come forward.
