A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car on Route 15 South in Westport early Monday morning.
Troopers responded to Route 15 South near exit 42 around 4:15 a.m. for a report that a car hit a pedestrian.

Serious injuries were reported and the accident reconstruction team was called to the scene.
State police said Salvador Castelan-Flores, 50, of New Haven, died at the scene.
Authorities said a car that crashed into a guardrail came to a stop in the middle of the road. Another car tried to swerve and ended up hitting a pedestrian, troopers said.
At one point, the entire southbound side of the highway was closed between exits 27 and 21. The highway has since reopened.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
