ABERDEEN, NJ — No charges have been filed against the driver who hit a 7-year-old on Sept. 12 in Aberdeen.
The girl was hit by a car at 8:16 a.m. Friday at W. Prospect Avenue at Edgeview Road, said police. She had gotten out of her mom’s car, and was crossing the street to a school bus stop, said Aberdeen Police Chief Matthew Lloyd.
The girl was walking in front of her mom’s car when she was hit.
The driver of the car that hit her stopped and remained at the scene.
“It is believed the vehicle was traveling in a safe manner. They did cooperate with police the entire time and no summons have been issued,” said Lloyd.
There is not a crossing guard in that area as it is not warranted on W. Prospect Avenue.
The girl was transported to Hackensack Meridian Jersey Shore University Medical Center, where she was treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
