For decades, building a classic muscle car that truly handles has meant fighting against the limits of a 50- or 60-year-old frame design. After years of perfecting bolt-on suspension systems, Ridetech is now offering a total solution. The company just launched its all-new Momentum Chassis Series, a complete, ground-up platform that gives builders a modern foundation for their classic General Motors (GM) A-body projects.
MOMENTUM Chassis Series
This is Ridetech‘s first-ever full chassis, and they started with a clean slate. Unlike systems that have to work with factory mounting points, Ridetech’s engineers placed the suspension pickups in the optimal locations for modern performance geometry. The engineers designed a chassis from the ground up that delivers sharper cornering, better stability, and a more comfortable ride. The first release is for 1968–1972 GM A-body coupes (like the Chevelle), with a version for the 1964–1967 models coming soon.

The new frame is engineered to be three times stiffer than the stock A-body chassis, yet it weighs nearly the same. The standard package comes loaded with Ridetech’s proven components, including front and rear control arms, a front sway bar, an adjustable transmission crossmember, and a Ford 9-inch rear axle housing. One of the biggest announcements is Ridetech’s plan to combat long industry lead times. They intend to have the Momentum Chassis Series in stock and ready to ship, a huge advantage for builders trying to keep their projects on schedule.

According to Ridetech, this isn’t a one-size-fits-all product. Builders start with the engineered chassis and then tailor it to their specific goals. The most important choice is the suspension type: you can choose between Ridetech’s popular coilover setup or its air suspension system. From there, you can select either the HQ single-adjustable or TQ triple-adjustable dampers to fine-tune the ride. Brakes and a steering rack are also selected by the customer to match the intended use of the car.
For anyone with a classic GM A-body who wants it to drive with the precision and confidence of a modern performance car, the chassis is the most important part of the build. Starting with a fully engineered platform like this provides the right foundation. It offers a direct path to achieving next-level handling and performance, giving these iconic muscle cars the moves to match their looks.
