Local news:
An officer has been injured after police opened fire during a tense car chase through multiple Sydney suburbs, with the offender still on the run.
The incident began when police attempted to pull over a stolen Citroen at Blacktown about 9pm on Saturday night.
The car sped away and was chased through multiple suburbs before ramming into two parked cars and three police cars on James St at Leichhardt, before allegedly driving towards officers.

One officer opened fire while another deployed a taser, however, the driver managed to flee the scene and remains on the run.
“(Police) were shooting at the car,” one witness told 7NEWS.
“I shut the door, and then I saw the car— I felt like it was reversing back really fast, but I’m not sure —I saw the policeman (put hands on their head) in a real shock.
“I kept opening the door and shutting the door because I was nervous… I knew it was gunfire.”
A 27-year-old male officer was taken to hospital with minor injuries, police said.
A car was later found abandoned on Crystal St in Petersham.
Police are urging anyone with information to contact crime stoppers.
