A new hypercar with gullwing doors, retro design, and analogue character is coming next month
Demand for multi-million dollar hypercars has never been stronger, and next month, one of the most storied names in automotive design will step into that rarefied circle. Working in partnership with Capricorn, the engineering firm behind the Apollo IE’s carbon fiber monocoque, Zagato is preparing to launch its first in-house hypercar. It will be hand-built and capped at just 19 units.
Due to be unveiled at the Zoute Grand Prix in Belgium next month, the still-unnamed model has so far been teased with a single image. Much of its shape remains cloaked in shadow, but after lightening the shot in Photoshop a handful of design details come into view.

Immediately catching the eye are the gullwing-style doors, arguably the most exotic ones a car can get. Zagato has then designed a pair of wing mirrors that extend far out from the front haunches. Up front, there’s a large air extraction vent on the hood, a relatively understated front bumper, and a pair of squircle-shaped headlights. In general, the new hypercar looks to have quite a polished and retro-themed design, which is a nice respite from some of the aerodynamic-obsessed options currently on sale.
The interior remains under wraps, but one detail is visible: three classic round gauges sit in place of the now-standard digital clusters, reinforcing the car’s analogue-inspired ethos.
Technical specifications have yet to be disclosed. What we do know is that it will combine the engineering and construction expertise of Capricorn with the design skill of Zagato, adopting an “analogue configuration.” All 19 units will be built by Capricorn, with production set to kick off in the first half of 2026.
“This project marks a turning point in our 106-year history of collaborating with more than 45 automotive brands in the creation of collectible GT cars,” Zagato president Andrea Zagato said. “Zagato’s first hypercar introduces a new segment of collectibles, designed to enhance the driving experience beyond the contemporary and classic categories. Zagato’s bond with the racetrack spans more than a century, ever since the Gran Turismo category brought racing cars that could also be enjoyed on the road.”
