EVERETT, Wash. — Part of southbound Interstate 5 was closed in Everett Wednesday morning after a deadly crash. The lanes have since reopened.
Washington State Patrol Trooper Kelsey Harding said a motorcycle and a car collided near the Everett Mall.
The HOV lane and two left lanes were blocked for several hours.
"This is an extended closure while troopers on scene investigate this tragic collision," Harding said in an X post at 4:03 a.m.
Shortly before 7 a.m., traffic was backed up at least 5 miles, approaching US 2.
All lanes reopened around 7:20 a.m.
