New York
New York
See a cool car—and sip whisky—at this free pop-up.
On race day, Formula One cars speed by as a blur, whether you’re watching on TV or in person. Now, you can get an up-close look at one of these incredible machines because an Aston Martin F1 vehicle is parked inside Grand Central Terminal
It’s there as part of a collaboration between the Aston Martin Formula One Team and Glenfiddich Single Malt Scotch Whisky, two iconic UK brands. The companies came together to showcase the car and to create a new limited-edition 16-year-old whisky. Find their free pop-up inside the train station’s resplendent Vanderbilt Hall. It’s on view today, September 24, from 3–8pm.

In addition to gawking at the car, a replica of one driven by Spanish race car driver Fernando Alsonso, you can also test your reflexes with an light-chaser-type game to see if you’ve got the instincts of a Grand Prix driver.
Plus, since you won’t actually be driving the race car, you can partake in some booze. Visitors can sample a limited-edition Glenfiddich 16-year-old neat or in signature cocktails. The alcohol was made by combining three different types of casks—a mix of American oak wine casks, new American barrels and second-fill bourbon casks. Their different properties meld to create honey-sweet-vanilla flavors in each sip, as well as notes of fruit and spices.
For Glenfiddich, the alcohol was inspired by the precision and performance of Aston Martin, as well as the instincts both maltmasters and drivers must rely upon.
Before you leave the pop-up, check out the bag customization station for a souvenir to take home. In addition to the activation in Vanderbilt Hall, the celebration extends throughout Grand Central, with additional samplings at the Grand Brasserie and Campbell restaurants, plus complimentary bottle engravings with purchases of the Glenfiddich 16 year-old at Central Cellars.
Been there, done that? Think again, my friend.
