New and expectant parents or caregivers in the Perkasie Borough community unfamiliar with a new or gently-used infant and toddler car seat and how it is installed properly in a backseat of a vehicle can have everything answered for them and more at a first-come, first-served car seat installation event Thursday afternoon and Friday morning at the Perkasie police department.
Perkasie Borough Police’s Civilian Community Relations Specialist was recently certified as a child passenger safety seat technician through Safe Kids Worldwide, police said.
The free community event will go over a correct installation, seat orientation, and harness set-up.
Time slots are offered between 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. Thursday, and between 10 a.m. and noon Friday.
Sign-up is required to attend the event in order to ensure an ample amount of time for participants to learn proper installation strategies, police said.
If the event fills up or you need assistance with a car seat installation on a different date or time, please contact the police department’s Community Relations Specialist at [email protected].
Participants for the event will need the car seat, vehicle, car seat manual (physical or online copy), and vehicle manual.
Children are optional.
Sign up for the event here. Perkasie Borough Police is at 311 S. 9th St.
