FIREFIGHTERS were called into action late Wednesday evening [September 24] following reports of a car fire near Kenn.
Two fire engines attended a vehicle reported to be smoking on the slip road near the village at around 9.30pm.
Upon arrival, crews confirmed that the vehicle was well alight.
The joint Danes Castle and Middlemoor crew used two hose reel jets to extinguish the fire.
A spokesperson for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: ‘The vehicle was approximately 40 per cent destroyed by fire.
‘The cause is believed to be accidental’.
Each year Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service help around 650 people whose vehicle has caught fire.
