The new A6 is offered exclusively with a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6 in the US market
A touch over five months since the latest-generation Audi A6 premiered in Europe, the sleek new sedan has been announced for the US. Set to land at local dealerships from the fourth quarter, it’s more tech-focused than its predecessor, has more power, and, as you’d expect, is more expensive.
Like the old model, the new 2026 Audi A6 has a 3.0-liter turbocharged V6. However, whereas the outgoing A6 delivered a peak of 335 hp and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque, this new model is rated at 362 hp and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm). Bolted to this engine is a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and a quattro all-wheel drive system. Audi says the new A6 needs just 4.5 seconds to hit 60 mph (96 km/h), an improvement of 0.6 seconds.

Interestingly, the old model was also available with a 261 hp 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, but that version has been dropped from the line-up. Now, there’s just a single engine to choose from and three different trim levels.
Sitting at the base of the range is the A6 Premium, priced from $64,100 excluding a $1,295 destination fee. This is significantly more than the old entry-level A6 Premium, which had started at $58,100, but that was for the 2.0-liter version. Shoppers of the old model with the V6 needed to part ways with $62,600. Given the added performance and features on offer, a price hike of $1,500 is reasonable.
Sitting in the middle of the range is the A6 Premium Plus, priced from $67,500, or just $200 more than last year. The range is then topped by the A6 Prestige starting at $71,400, which is actually cheaper than the $73,350 commanded by the 2025 model.
Underpinning the new Audi A6 family is the company’s Premium Platform Combustion (PPC) architecture. The Prestige version comes standard with electronically controlled dampers. The flagship version can also be equipped with a Sport Plus package that adds all-wheel steering, a sport rear differential, and steel sport suspension.
Like in Europe, the interior of the new A6 includes a curved display housing an 11.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 14.5-inch MMI infotainment display. Standard on the Prestige model is a 10.9-inch MMI front passenger display. Other key features include a head-up display, ambient lighting, and an optional Bang & Olufsen 3D premium sound system.
