The latest model drops the cheapest trim, adds a new edition, and raises the price without performance upgrades
It’s a double whammy of bad news for Subaru BRZ fans as the company is dropping the entry-level Premium trim and raising the cost of entry to $35,860. That’s $2,650 more than last year’s model and this is before factoring in the destination fee, which has increased from $1,170 to $1,195.

This is a disappointing development, but Subaru said the Premium trim accounted for less than 10% of sales in 2025. Considering the company has only sold 2,107 BRZs through August, that’s less than 211 units. That’s not many and Subaru’s Bill Stokes said, “Our streamlined BRZ lineup reflects our buyers’ preferences in a lightweight, performance coupe with technology and creature comforts found in BRZ Limited and BRZ tS trim levels.”
Limited Leads the Lineup
With the Premium dropped, the Limited now takes the role of the entry-level model. It apparently carries over untouched and pricing remains unchanged at $35,860.
As a refresher, the car sports LED lighting units and 18-inch wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 4 summer performance tires. Buyers will also find a 7-inch digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch infotainment system, and the EyeSight driver assistance system. They’re joined by leather and Ultrasuede seats, Brin Naub accents, red contrast stitching, and alloy pedals.
Speaking of déjà vu, the BRZ tS is also unchanged at $38,360. It sports a Brembo braking system, Hitachi dampers, and a handful of special touches. The latter include Crystal Black Silica accents, blue contrast stitching, and a gauge cluster with cherry red flourishes.
Lastly, there’s the $39,360 BRZ Series.Yellow, which was introduced earlier this month. It sports a Sunrise Yellow exterior that contrasts with black badging and matte black 18-inch alloy wheels. Buyers will also find yellow accents inside.
Regardless of which trim is selected, all models are powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine developing 228 hp (170 kW / 231 PS) and 184 lb-ft (249 Nm) of torque. The tS and Series.Yellow are available exclusively with a six-speed manual, but the Limited offers an optional six-speed automatic for $850.
