PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) — The electrified vehicle market is expanding with brand-new offerings heading into 2026.
From SUVs to crossover hybrids and new bells and whistles, if you're in the market for a new EV, hybrid, or plug-in hybrid, there are plenty of new options.
Toyota now has an electrified option for nearly everything it makes.
The Toyota Prius is marking its 25th anniversary in the U.S., with lots of updates.
"Better safety features, more power, a better fuel economy, more infotainment options, wireless configurations for your phone, music streaming," said Laura Voss, Toyota product specialist.
If you're a lifelong fan of the Rav4, Sienna minivan, or Camry, they are now exclusively electrified.
The new Camry gets up to 51 miles to the gallon, and the price begins in the high $20,000s.
"So, you can find your entry-level Camry for under $30,000 with a tremendous amount of standard features," said Voss.
With a hybrid, there's no charging, but a lot of power.
"Tremendous amount of torque from a dead stop," Voss added. "An electric motor is all torque."
The battery in these new electrified vehicles is smaller, and it's been relocated, so there's plenty of room for passengers and cargo.
And nearly every electrified vehicle from Toyota now offers DC fast charging capability, meaning drivers can use the vast network of thousands of fast charging stations on the North American Charging System.
"So that's big news that you'll be able to charge from 10 to 80% in about 30 minutes," Voss said.
The 2026 Rav4 is completely redesigned with a brand-new look. It comes as a hybrid or plug-in hybrid.
"For 26, the plug-in hybrid Rav4 will get up to 50 miles purely electric, full highway speeds, and then it will run like a regular hybrid," she said.
Also new for 2026: the Toyota bZ, Rivian R2, the Ram 1500 REV, the Subaru Trailseeker and the Kia EV4, which is a compact sedan that starts at around $36,000.
If you like a sportier vehicle, the Rav4 will also have a GR Sport Model.
And next year, the Acura RSX will also hit dealer lots.
It's an electric crossover SUV, which Consumer Reports said will be the first vehicle built on a new EV platform engineered entirely by Honda.
