Footage of a Lamborghini Urus luxury SUV being vandalized in broad daylight in South Hackensack, New Jersey has surfaced on social media. The incident happened in August 2025 when a white box truck with no visible license plates pulled up beside the Lamborghini Urus, smashed the driver’s window and threw paint inside.
The footage posted on Instagram by user thacarcommunity does not show how the whole thing started; the video begins with the box truck already stopped by the Lambo Urus and a man dressed in black standing beside the smashed window and throwing cans of paint inside.
As a bystander notices him and starts filming the incident with his smartphone, the suspect hurries up and climbs into the truck, fleeing the scene. The footage then shows the damage done to the car, which has got to be very expensive. The driver’s window is smashed and barely hangs from the door, while the interior looks ready to participate at a festival of colors.
The perpetrators emptied boxes of white, yellow and green paint inside the vehicle, smearing the dashboard, leather-trimmed brown seats, door panels and carpeting. The result of this wicked act is painful to watch as a car fan, so imagine how the owner must have felt when they saw their luxury SUV’s interior damaged like that.
According to Ironbound Newz, the 2024 Lamborghini Urus was parked on the sidewalk in a commercial section of Hackensack, near an auto shop where the owner had left the gray SUV to get a custom wrap.
Investigators say the damage to the super SUV, which is valued at well over $250,000, could render portions of the interior beyond repair. According to police, the box truck used in the crime may have been stolen or rented under a false identity.
While no injuries resulted from this incident, residents were shocked to see such an expensive vehicle vandalized in broad daylight. We don’t know if police have solved this case yet, but they did gather surveillance footage from nearby businesses to review it in order to identify the suspects.
South Hackensack police also urged anyone with information about the box truck or the suspects to contact their detective bureau. One thing is certain: whatever the owner of the Urus did, they really angered the wrong kind of people.
The motive behind this brazen vandalism case is anyone’s guess, really. It could be a case of revenge, envy or simply madness. That said, many of the commenters on Instagram said that this looks like an insurance scam. We can’t say if that’s the case, but if it is, we’re pretty sure the insurance company will get to the bottom of this.
We wonder if anyone thought of another possibility. What if this was the work of some die-hard Lamborghini fan who hates that the supercar brand branched into SUVs? We’re joking, obviously. There are certainly more questions than answers regarding this incident, so let us know in the comments section if you happen to have more information about it.
