Two men died when a vehicle crashed in Newark on Thursday evening, according to police.
Officers responded shortly before 5:30 p.m. to the single-vehicle crash reported on Thornton Avenue near Hickory Street and arrived to find two people, one who had been ejected from the vehicle, Newark police said.

The driver and passenger both were pronounced dead. The driver was identified by the Alameda County Coroner's Bureau on Friday as Anthony Andres Reynoza Monchez, a 33-year-old man from Hayward, and the passenger as Luis Alberto Deras, a 31-year-old man from Union City.
