TWO people were taken to hospital after a car struck a pedestrian before crashing into a Largs town centre shop.
Multiple police, fire and ambulance crew vehicles attended Main Street shortly before 2pm on Saturday, September 27.
Motorists have been redirected around the area, while McGill’s Buses advised passengers to join its 901 and 906 services at St Mary’s Church until further notice “due to an accident”.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service told the News that the incident was a police matter.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 1.40pm on Saturday, September 27, police were called after a car struck a pedestrian and crashed into the wall of a shop on Main Street, Largs.
“The 67-year-old driver of the car has been taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra Hospital in Paisley where medical staff describe his condition as stable.
“The 63-year-old male pedestrian remains within hospital in a stable condition.
“Enquiries into the cause of the crash are continuing.”
The Scottish Ambulance Service has also been contacted.
