The 2026 Nissan Murano no longer offers a front-wheel-drive option, as all-wheel drive is now standard.
The AWD Murano's new $42,965 base price is only $1000 more than last year's front-driver.
Nissan's mid-size SUV also now offers ProPilot Assist 2.1, which is the brand's latest hands-free driver-assist system.
Front-wheel drive is all that most people need, with winter tires helping provide better traction in cold climates. Front-drive models are almost always less expensive than their all-wheel-drive counterparts too. That was the case last year for the redesigned Nissan Murano, but now the FWD configuration has been removed from the lineup.
Previously, the Murano's base-level SV trim was the only one that offered front-wheel drive, with the 2025 model starting at $41,965. Now that the AWD SV is the entry point, the cost of admission rises by $1000 to $42,965, which is also the same price as it was last year. The mid-level SL and top-spec Platinum start at $48,055 and $51,095, respectively. Both those base prices are unchanged compared with the year prior.
Apart from dropping from FWD, Nissan improves the Murano's roster of available features with the introduction of ProPilot Assist 2.1. That's the latest version of the automaker's hands-free driver-assist system, though it requires driving on compatible roads to work. The ProPilot feature is part of the Platinum trim's Technology package. For those who choose the SL trim, there's a new Comfort package that adopts features previously reserved for the Platinum. The list includes massaging seats with ventilated cushions, heated rear seats, and a motion-activated power liftgate.
