High-winding 2024 C8 for sale on Cars & Bids has covered only 2,400 miles from new
Working in a dealership seems like a great way to try out some dream cars without enduring the financial pain of owning and running them. But it wasn’t enough for one GM dealer technician who spent his own money on this stealthy-looking 2024 Corvette Z06, which is now ready for its next owner.
Until the ZR1 and the even nuttier ZR1X came out, the Z06 was the most enthusiast-focused C8 you could buy. It swapped the base car’s 490 hp (497 PS) LT4 V8 for a flat-plane LT6 that pumps out 670 hp (679 PS) and revs to 8,600 rpm. The base Vette might look like a supercar, but the Z06 backed it up with engineering substance.

This Z06 is for sale on Cars & Bids, where the seller explains that he’s a seasoned vehicle technician with 19 years of experience working in GM dealerships and claims he’s owned several Corvettes from every one of the car’s eight generations. That suggests he’s owned upwards of 20 Vettes, so he must cycle through them pretty quickly, and might help explain why he’s selling this one after covering only 2,400 miles (3,860 km).
Prices on the Slide
You’ve probably already heard that Z06 prices have plummeted this year. Used examples routinely sold for over MSRP when the model first came out, but they’re now going for less, and if this car’s owner doesn’t exit soon, he could take a real beating. The window sticker claims the 3LZ trim Z06 cost $133,935, including a few options such as the nose-lift kit and spider-design wheels, and bids are unlikely to reach that high.
And in case you’re wondering, the seller claims, in response to comments suggesting he got the car at a huge discount, that “dealership personnel are not considered GM employees, furthermore, Z06 has never had any employee discounts attached to them.”
Still Plenty of Car
