Multiple officials were on the scene outside the Craven County Courthouse in downtown New Bern on Tuesday morning after a light pole fell onto a car.
The New Bern Police Department, Craven County Sheriff's Office, and New Bern Utilities crews were outside the side entrance to the courthouse just after noon on Tuesday.
City of New Bern officials tell us that they were alerted Tuesday morning that the pole on Craven Street was leaning and arrived on scene as it fell. The pole had Craven County equipment and telecom equipment on it, but no City power lines. Crews stayed on the scene and cleaned up the area.
The pole fell on top of a white sedan vehicle and appeared to have caused significant damage to the top of the car. Officials say a total of two cars sustained damages.
