Neighbors told WRAL News they felt the impact of the crash in their home next door, saying they were worried the woman who lived there was hurt when they saw the car crashed into her bedroom.
Thankfully, the homeowner will be okay. Neighbors believe a tree blocked some of the impact of the crash and helped save the woman’s life.
Neighbors told WRAL News crashes have impacted the small community on previous occasions.
“This has happened multiple times already,” said Genesis Duron, who lives in a mobile home next door to the home that was hit.
Duron said she was in her kitchen when she heard a car hit her neighbor’s home.
“A lot of neighbors have damage on their trailers already. We’re trying to see if somebody can build some other type of protection, at least for the people who live on the side of the street,” Duron said.
Neighbors said they saw what looked like deputies helping the driver out of the car, who was then taken away in an ambulance.
The North Carolina State Highway Patrol said injuries were reported, but it is unclear how badly anyone was hurt.
