More than 23,000 Chevrolet electric vehicles are being recalled, according to the notice posted by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration.
According to the notice, the recall includes certain Chevrolet Equinox EVs.
The recall revolves around its pedestrian alert sound system. The NHTSA notice says the volume of the alert sound may not be loud enough when the vehicle starts moving at low speeds, which could result in nearby pedestrians being “unaware of an approaching vehicle, increasing the risk of injury.”
The notice says that the remedy to this issue is under development, with affected customers set to be notified by Nov. 10, 2025. The NHTSA’s database allows you to search for recalls based on your vehicle identification number or VIN.
According to the NHTSA notice, the recall affects certain 2024 Chevrolet Equinox EV vehicles. A total of 23,700 units are potentially impacted.
