Tipperary North TD Ryan O’Meara provided an update today in relation to the development of the extension of Ballina Health Centre and the adjoining carpark.
Deputy O’Meara stated that he has been contacted by many constituents expressing concerns about cars being parked outside private entrances and blocking O’Brien’s Lane.

These residents are seeking a completion date for this car park.
Speaking on the matter Ryan O’Meara TD stated: “It is vital that the car park for Ballina Health Centre is built soon to alleviate the current traffic congestion. I made contact with the HSE to seek further information in relation to the development of the health centre extension and carpark.
“The HSE have informed me that the decision to grant planning permission was granted in Q1 2025 for the internal reconfiguration of the existing Ballina health centre.

“The construction of an extension to the health centre will consist of a building to accommodate 3 clinics, the construction of new external ramps and steps, the widening of the existing entrance, the provision of car parking spaces and all ancillary associated site works above and below ground.
“Final design works are being undertaken, subject to approvals and a successful tender, it is anticipated a contractor could commence works in 2026 with completion by year end.
“I will continue to work with officials in the HSE to see these much-anticipated works completed as soon as possible.”
