Bentley’s latest custom convertible mixes art and excess with a vivid purple finish and 771-horsepower hybrid powertrain
If you’ve got the funds to add a Bentley to your garage, it’s only natural to want yours to look unlike anyone else’s. That seems to be the thinking behind this Continental GTC Speed, ordered by an owner clearly intent on standing out from the rest of the well-heeled crowd.
From the first glance, it’s clear that this droptop wasn’t built to blend in, with a bespoke finish that makes both the exterior and cabin feel genuinely one of a kind.

The exterior color, knows as Violette, is a shade of purple with hints of blue that works perfectly with the flowing lines of the bodywork. In addition to the purple paint, this GTC has been equipped with black badges, a dark grey metallic canvas roof, black wheels, and a black grille.
Luxury In Layers
Then we come to the cabin, which is even more stunning than the outside. It comes adorned with Tanzanite Purple leather on the door panels, transmission tunnel, and dashboard, and features elements with a lighter shade of Lilac, including the gear lever and contrast stitching.
Elsewhere, the Continental GTC Speed includes Linen-colored leather and Bentley’s optional Stone Veneer. Found across the dashboard, it is made from stone that is up to 200 million years old and is just 0.1 mm thick.
The Rise of Mulliner
Customization options like the ones featured on this Continental are becoming an increasingly important part of Bentley’s business. In fact, it says that more than 70 percent of its customers now select at least one Mulliner feature when configuring their new ride.
The British owner of this particular GTC is no stranger to Bentley. In fact, he owns six Bentaygas and recently took delivery of a Continental GT painted in Scarab Green.
Driving the Continental GTC Speed is a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V8 delivering 591 hp that’s joined by a 187 hp electric motor, resulting in a combined 771 hp and 738 lb-ft (1,000 Nm) of torque. As a result, the Speed can hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.4 seconds and power through to 177 mph (285 km/h).
While that’s impressive, the GTC’s top speed is well down on the Coupe’s 208 mph (335 km/h). You won’t find us complaining, though, as there are practically no places on Earth where you can max them out safely or legally – and the Continental, for all its pace, is no track weapon by design.
