MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – Action News 5 is sharing new details about an 81-year-old Memphis woman who was living in her car after a tree fell on her house.
The house came down on Wednesday. The rebuild is now underway.
We first told you in August how Christine Marshall moved into her car during a summer heat wave.
She told us her home on South Parkway West had been in disrepair for years. Then, the roof collapsed, and the A/C went out.
Luckily, her story was broadcast for all to see, and a construction company stepped in to renovate the once-dilapidated home.
They’re doing it for free with the help of money from a GoFundMe account that raised over $70,000.
