(CNN)– New car buyers might be having some real some sticker shock.
Kelley Blue Book now says, for the first time, the average price for a new car has passed $50,000.
The pricing-guide company reports that buyers paid about $50,080 in September.
Kelley Blue Book said rising auto tariffs, luxury cars, and pricier electric vehicles are driving the increase.
Industry experts say another big jump could come with 2026 models.
