A pedestrian has died after being hit by a car.
Police were called to the incident on Eridge Road, Crowborough, on Friday evening (October 17), at around 10.15pm.
It followed reports that a pedestrian had been hit by a car.
The 47-year-old local man was treated by paramedics but was pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kind have been informed.
Police have launched an investigation to establish the circumstances of the incident.
The driver of a grey MG4, a 35-year-old man from Tunbridge Wells, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless or dangerous driving.
He has since been released on bail while enquiries continue.
The road was closed from Boars Head Road to Eridge Road as emergency crews worked at the scene. This has since been reopened.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said: “We are asking anyone who witnessed the collision, or who has dashcam footage that could assist police enquiries, to make a report.
