One person has been airlifted to hospital after a two-car crash in Northumberland. Emergency services were called to Alnmouth on Tuesday afternoon following the collision.
The air ambulance helicopter also responded to the scene and transported one person to hospital. The A1068 road remains closed in both directions between Alnmouth and Warkworth.
A spokesperson for the Great North Air Ambulance Service said: "We were activated at 12.17pm to reports of a road traffic collision in Alnmouth. There was a paramedic and a doctor on the aircraft which arrived at 12.41pm.

"Our team worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service and treated a patient on scene. One patient was airlifted to hospital."
Northumbria Police were called to the two-vehicle collision shortly before midday and confirmed the crash happened on the roundabout at A1068 in Alnmouth. Emergency services are still at the scene.
The force said the road is currently closed in both directions between Alnmouth and Warkworth. Motorists are advised to find alternative routes where possible and to expect delays.
