Detectives were seen going door-to-door yesterday as they gathered ring door bell footage and eyewitness accounts of what unfolded in the estate run by social housing provider Home Group Scotland.
Two mangled motors could still be seen in the driveway and one home closest to the blaze had its windows and door boarded up.
A witness who contacted The Scottish Sun moments after the flames took hold said: “All I heard was this loud explosion, it was a proper bang.
“When I got around the corner the car was completely ablaze.
“People were out checking what had happened after hearing it.
“Someone tried to move the car parked next to the motor on fire to stop it from getting damaged.
“Folk had to tell them to leave it because it was just too dangerous.
“Thankfully the fire brigade were there pretty quickly and dealt with it.”

It’s understood cops working under Operation Portaledge – the crackdown on underworld violence that’s been sweeping across the country since March – are not involved in the investigation into Monday night’s torching.
A spokesperson for the force said: “Around 8.10pm on Monday we received a report of a vehicle on fire outside a property in Brickfield Crescent, Glasgow.
“Emergency services attended and the fire was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service. There were no reported injuries.
“Enquiries are at an early stage but the fire is being treated as wilful.”
Karen Wolstencroft, head of service delivery at Home Group Scotland said: “We are aware of a car being set on fire at Brickfield Crescent and are supporting Police Scotland with their investigation.
