EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A 78-year-old man died after his car crashed into a building in East El Paso on Monday afternoon.
According to the El Paso Police Department, Luis Hernandez Vasquez died from the injuries he sustained after the 2008 Nissan Sentra he was driving ran a stop sign, hit a center median on Grover and Hawkins which sent the vehicle flying and crashing into a building.

Police said Vasquez was taken to the hospital by emergency services; however, some time later, the medical examiner's office called investigators to let them know that Vasquez had succumbed to his injuries.
According to police statistics, this is the 52nd traffic death of 2025, compared to 55 this same time last year.
No word yet on what caused Vasquez to blow past the stop sign and crash.
Police said the investigation continues.
