The force also closed the road following the collision, but it had since been reopened by officers.
A spokesperson for TVP said: “This has been recorded as a minor injury collision, so we wouldn’t provide any further detail.

The communication from Mrs Nicholls read: “You may be aware that there was a road accident at the front of school this afternoon involving one of our younger students.
“We are pleased to let you know that it appears to be minor, and the student is being attended to by medical staff.
“I would like to thank the students and staff who raised the alarm and went to the aid of the student very quickly, but it is a lesson to all students to please use the pelican crossing when needing to cross the road outside of the school gates.
“I hope this message reassures you.”
