SCHAUMBURG, Ill. (WLS) — Emergency crews responded to a car fire Saturday near a mall in the northwest suburbs.
Video obtained by ABC7 Chicago showed flames and black smoke at a parking structure for a Macy's store at the Woodfield Mall in Schaumburg.
Schaumburg police told ABC News they responded to a report of a car fire around 2:20 p.m. on the upper level of the parking garage. A driver had suffered a medical emergency before their car caught on fire.
A bystander, who also suffered a minor injury, helped pull the driver from their car. The driver was later taken to a hospital for treatment, police said.
Three other vehicles were damaged due to the car fire, Schaumburg police said.
No further information was immediately available.
