Shots were fired at a home on the Gold Coast in the early hours of Tuesday morning.
Two men wearing all-black attended a home on Gideon Gardens in Pimpama about 4.30am and discharged “two projectiles” into the front door, police said.
One resident was home at the time but was not injured.
“A crime-scene has been declared while detectives conduct investigations,” police said.
Anyone with any information or relevant dashcam footage has been urged to come forward.
Two people have been killed and another has been injured in a mine explosion in Far Western NSW.
Emergency services were initially called to the mine at Endeavour Mine in Cobar, about 450km east of Broken Hill, at 3.45am on Tuesday after being told two people had been critically injured in an underground explosion.
When officers arrived they were informed a man had since died.
Two women were brought to the surface, however one did not survive.
The second woman was airlifted to hospital suffering hearing damage and shock.
Emergency services remain at the scene.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
King Charles has been heckled about his brother Prince Andrew’s links to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein during a visit to a cathedral in the UK.
The monarch was speaking with supporters when a man shouted: “How long have you known about Andrew and Epstein? Have you asked the police to cover up for Andrew?”
Others in the crowd turned around and began yelling at the heckler, telling him to shut up and “go away”.
In keeping with royal protocol King Charles ignored the comments.
It comes after Prince Andrew reportedly agreed to move out of his 30-bed mansion, the Royal Lodge, due to ongoing pressure.
According to ​The Sun​, in exchange Andrew has asked for Adelaide Cottage, the home William and Kate will be leaving next month, as well as Frogmore Cottage.
Prince Andrew and his ex-wife Sarah Ferguson had reportedly not paid rent at the Royal Lodge since 2003.

A police officer has been seriously injured in a car crash in Western Sydney.
About 7.15pm on Monday a police car crashed into a guard rail at the intersection of Church St and Parramatta Rd in Parramatta.
The police car was under lights and sirens at the time and on the way to a priority incident.
A 23-year-old male probationary constable who was a passenger in the car was trapped for a short time before being freed by NSW Fire and Rescue crews.
He was treated at the scene by paramedics for a serious arm injury before being taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious condition.
The driver, a 24-year-old male constable was not injured.
He was subjected to a roadside breath test which returned a negative result.
A critical incident team from Fairfield City Police Area Command will investigate exactly what led to the crash.
“The investigation will be subject of an independent review by the Professional Standards Command and oversight by the Law Enforcement Conduct Commission,” NSW Police said.

A motorbike rider has been killed in a collision with a car in Melbourne’s west.
The rider crashed with a car at the intersection of Leakes Rd and Kwila Dr in Truganina about 8.30pm on Monday.
Emergency services treated the male motorcylist but he died at the scene.
The male driver of the car stopped following the crash and was not injured.
“Officers are working to establish the exact circumstances of the collision,” Victoria Police said.
Anyone who witnessed the incident has been urged to come forward.
