The desire to create a culture of compassion and partnership comes to light for Team Chevrolet Valparaiso (Team Chevy) through its community connections. Team Chevy’s vision consists of pumping the brakes to meet the needs of the customers while accelerating the growth and new car sales.
Dave Brubaker, general manager of Team Chevy, is pleased to be a part of a dealership that has continuously made strides in the right direction every year.
“In August of this year, we celebrated our 25th anniversary,” Brubaker said. “We’ve been making big moves in Northwest Indiana with new Chevrolet car sales this year. Our new car sales are up by about 50% year over year. We’re thankful for the community and the people who are giving us an opportunity to earn their business.”
At this time last year, the total number of new car sales at the Valparaiso dealership was 346. This year has seen an increase to 514 sales, generating almost 15 more new car sales per month and 168 more overall.
“It’s huge for our store and continues to give us an opportunity to grow towards becoming Northwest Indiana’s prime Chevrolet dealership,” Brubaker said.
For the guests, the more new cars that Team Chevy sells helps us increase the inventory. This creates better availability and deals for customers in the Region.
“It’s an opportunity to be more competitive on pricing with a goal to beat any deal in Northwest Indiana,” Brubaker said. “We’ve added additional employees and technicians to accommodate our growth. Customer service remains our number one priority, and we want our guests to have the best experience possible.”
According to Brubaker, Team Chevy has continued to establish itself among the many Chicagoland dealerships as one of the highest performers in its zone. This growth has been substantial in the service department.
The dealership has extended its hours on weekdays, staying open until 6 p.m., as well as giving customers an opportunity to save money with happy hour specials on Saturdays.
“We offer a happy hour every Saturday, servicing all makes and models,” Brubaker said. “We do a complimentary multi-point inspection and video inspection of every car. We also have a shuttle service and a newer Uber service that we use to shuttle the customer to and from work if needed. Most people don’t want to spend their time here at the dealership, so we want to try to get the work completed efficiently to get it back on the road.”
While new car sales are critical for Team Chevy, getting to know customers on a personal level holds a substantial amount of weight. Finding ways to bring customers into the dealership helps boost engagement within Team Chevy’s community circle.
“People come here to buy cars and get their service done, and it’s a great opportunity for us when they keep coming back,” Brubaker said. “Some of them might be in the market for a vehicle down the road and choose us because of how we treated them when they were here. Being involved with the community is super important. We believe in giving back. This year we’ve been able to support 500 Turkeys, VNA Hospice NWI with their military and veterans program, Guardian of the Green Mile’s dog rescue, and The Caring Place. We’ve also worked with the American Heart Association, Valpo Parks Department, Valparaiso Events, and the Valpo High School Athletic Department.”
Assisting in any way it can while getting the dealership’s name out there is what Team Chevy is all about. As the dealership continues to be a driving force for growth and new sales, it strives to continue building upon great relationships in the Region.
