A MAJOR road through Port Glasgow has reopened following a crash this morning which involved a pedestrian and a car.
The A8 was closed for six hours following the major incident, with emergency services racing to the scene at around 7am.
The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed they sent a trauma response team to the crash on Greenock Road.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said: ” The A8 Greenock Road in Port Glasgow has reopened following a crash involving a pedestrian and a car which was reported around 7am on Wednesday, 29 October, 2025.
“Motorists are thanked for their patience.”
Earlier they confirmed that the A8 between the Comet and Kingston roundabouts, was closed in both directions while emergency service crews were on the scene.
A Scottish Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We received a call at 07.00 to attend an incident on the A8 in Port Glasgow.
“Two ambulances, a special operations response team [SORT] and a trauma team were dispatched to the scene.”
