The condition of the pedestrian is not known.

The road was closed for a number of hours before later reopening around 1pm.
A police spokesperson said: “The A8 Greenock Road in Port Glasgow has reopened following a crash involving a pedestrian and a car which was reported around 7am on Wednesday, October 29, 2025.
“Motorists are thanked for their patience.”
